About Pizzana — Crafted With Passion
We are more than a restaurant. Pizzana is a celebration of authentic Italian flavors, family tradition, and the belief that great food brings people together. Discover the pizzana story behind every slice.
The Story Behind Every Slice
Pizzana was born in 2009 in Dallas, TX, with a simple yet powerful idea: bring the true taste of Naples to the heart of America. Our founder, Marco Ferrante, grew up in southern Italy watching his grandmother knead dough at dawn and layer hand-crushed tomatoes with fresh mozzarella from a neighbor's farm. When he moved to the United States, he brought those recipes — and that devotion — with him.
What started as a small family kitchen has grown into one of Dallas's most beloved Italian restaurants. Our pizanna philosophy has always been the same: source the finest ingredients, respect traditional technique, and pour genuine care into every dish we serve.
Farm-Fresh Ingredients
We partner with local Texas farms and import select Italian produce — San Marzano tomatoes, 00-flour, and aged Parmigiano — to ensure authenticity in every bite.
Wood-Fired Tradition
Our hand-built Neapolitan oven reaches 900°F, charring crusts to crispy perfection in just 90 seconds — exactly as it's been done in Naples for centuries.
Our Mission & Core Values
Everything we do at Pizzana is guided by four principles that were instilled from day one and remain our compass today.
Passion First
We cook with love. Every pizza, pasta, and dessert that leaves our kitchen is made with the same energy our founder's grandmother put into her Sunday meals.
Quality Ingredients
No shortcuts, no compromises. We source premium ingredients — locally and from Italy — because superior food begins long before it reaches the oven.
Community Roots
Pizzana is part of the Dallas community. We support local suppliers, employ from the neighborhood, and give back through annual food drives and events.
Consistency
Whether it's your first visit or your hundredth, you'll taste the same excellence every single time. That reliability is a promise we take seriously.
Milestones That Shaped Pizzana
The First Dough
Marco Ferrante opens Pizzana in a modest 800 sq ft space on Preston Rd, Dallas. The opening night sold out every table and the phone hasn't stopped ringing since.
Best New Restaurant Award
Dallas Morning News names Pizzana the Best New Italian Restaurant in North Texas — just two years after opening. The recognition changed everything.
New Kitchen, New Menu
We expanded into a 3,000 sq ft space, added a full pasta program, imported our Neapolitan oven from Naples, and launched our beloved pizanna seasonal menu.
Catering & Events Launch
Demand from weddings, corporate clients, and community events led us to launch Pizzana Catering — now serving over 300 events per year across DFW.
Community Strong
During a challenging year, Pizzana donated over 8,000 meals to Dallas healthcare workers and first responders — a moment the entire team is deeply proud of.
Online Ordering Platform
We launched seamless online ordering, making it easier than ever for Dallas pizza lovers to enjoy Pizzana's authentic flavors from the comfort of home.
240,000 Guests Served
We celebrate a milestone: 240,000 guests and counting. The journey continues — guided by the same love for food and community that started it all in 2009.
The Principles That Guide Everything We Do
At Pizzana, our values are not framed on a wall — they're baked into every dough ball, every interaction, every decision we make as a team and as a member of the Dallas community.
Authenticity Over Everything
We never compromise on what makes Italian food special. Our recipes are rooted in tradition, not trend. Real flavors, real techniques, every single day.
Respect for the Craft
Our chefs are artists. We invest in continuous training, culinary travel to Italy, and an environment where creativity and discipline coexist.
Hospitality as Heritage
Southern Italian hospitality — warmth, generosity, and a genuine desire to make guests feel at home — is in our DNA. Every visit should feel like family.
Sustainability & Responsibility
We minimize waste, use eco-friendly packaging, and support sustainable farming. Good food should also mean a good future for the planet.
